  “You can’t make this stuff up!” This is a phrase which came to mind for us often throughout 2024. Wiktionary.org defines the phrase as describing a reality “so bizarre, ironic, or comically coincidental, as to be unbelievable.” In fact, in the face of such realities, many refuse to believe it.

Ah June! Long days and warm weather, green grass, flowers blooming, the month when schools close for the summer, folks plan vacations, and often activity on Wall Street begins to slow for the season. The Fed signaled that a rate cut sometime later in the year was likely but were careful to point out the caution light was still flashing for a potential rebound in inflation.

As we write this, Maine has just experienced its first total Solar Eclipse since 1963. The state enjoyed clear skies, and some of the best views of totality seen in the country.
